The world has lost yet another legend; this time outstanding comedian Sir Kenneth Arthur Dodd OBE. On the 11th March 2018, Ken Dodd died at the age of 90.

His wife, of whom he had married just two days earlier, claimed that the world had lost “a most life-enhancing, brilliant, creative comedian”. Mostly identified for his messy hair and stand out teeth, Ken Dodd was known for his stand-up comedy shows relying on the delivery of one-liners.
He had also broken the record for the world’s longest joke-telling session in the 1960s at 1,500 jokes in three and a half hours!
On Monday 12th March, ITV had changed their television schedule to honour Ken Dodd’s life with a tribute show. They were originally meant to show Rachel Nickell – An Untold Story but changed after hearing the devastating news over the weekend.
Channel 5 had also released a tribute show called Ken Dodd: My Life – In His Own Words which is made up of a compilation of clips and interviews. There was also a segment on Dodd on ‘The One Show’ which aired at 7pm on the 12th of March.
