It is a great time for the gaming community, as millions of gaming fans have been taken by storm at the announcement of the popular, third-person shooter game, Fortnite Battle Royale’s arrival to iOS11 and Android devices.

Fortnite was a game released on July 2017 after a six-year wait from its initial reveal in 2011. The main campaign mode of the game is set in an apocalyptic Earth, where 98% of the world’s population has succumbed to a new race of zombie creatures revolting against the remaining armed populace.

The multiplayer version, which has proven to be more popular with gamers across the globe, is a Battle Royale; individuals and up to four-man teams compete with up to 100 players in a race to craft, collect and shoot to survive to become the last one standing.

The Fortnite community has the opportunity to apply for the invite list, which can be found on the game developers, Epic Games’, website. It is anticipated that the invites will be distributed to the users’, iOS and Android, accounts in the following weeks, however it is important to note that an epidemic of fake code invites may be distributed by shady accounts, so be vigilant of illegitimate invites that pull you into a phishing scam.

It has not yet been announced exactly which Android devices will be a host for the mobile platform, however it has been confirmed that the Fortnite mobile app will not be available on iOS devices older than the iPhone 6. The devices that the game will be available on, include:

  • iPhone SE
  • iPhone6/6S Plus
  • iPhone7/7 Plus
  • iPhone8/8 Plus
  • iPhone X
  • iPad Air 2
  • iPad Mini 4
  • iPad Pro
  • iPad 2017

The app will feature cross-platform gameplay with PlayStation 4 and PC and is anticipated to be the biggest global mobile app game since Pokémon Go!
