The Apple HomePod is a powerful speaker that adapts to wherever it’s playing. It brings together Apple Music and Siri to learn your taste in music. It’s also a powerful assistant for your home. It is capable of handling everyday tasks and can control your smart home. The Apple HomePod is currently retails around £319.
There are some pros and cons regarding the Apple HomePod:
Pros:
- It has astonishing sound quality
- Siri’s voice has good accuracy
- Eye-catching, with a good design
Cons:
- Siri is restricted
- No Bluetooth streaming
- An Apple Music subscription is required for a meaningful experience
There are two colours available for the Apple HomePod: Space Grey and White. I personally prefer the HomePod White as it looks quite clean and eye-catching.
It is easy to set it up. All you must do is turn on the HomePod and put your phone right next to it, then you will see a box pop up on your phone saying “HomePod set up”. When you press it will ask you which room the HomePod is in. That’s it, then it will ask you for your personal requests. The HomePod, is the company’s answer to the surprisingly popular Amazon Echo and Google Home smart speakers. Apple is very persistent that the HomePod has been in development for the past six years and that it’s entirely focused on sound quality, but it’s entering a market where Amazon is marketing Alexa as a lovable and well-known speaker.
The HomePod’s power cord is built-in and wrapped in fabric, and on top, there are LED-backlit volume buttons and a display.
