Is Andrew Iniesta moving to China?
Andres Iniesta, 33, has played for FC Barcelona for his whole career and has come through the Barcelona Academy, ‘La Masia’, but his future, mentioned in the last few years, has not been completely clear. In the last couple of months, various rich Chinese clubs have been putting down big money offers to bring Iniesta to China for his last years of football.
A couple of years ago there was a Chinese revolution in world football, taking Premier League stars for ridiculous prices, for example, Oscar for £60 million, but now they are returning for legends of the game like Iniesta. He says that ‘I will make a decision to stay at Barcelona or to go to China before April 30’ after Barcelona’s recent victory over Chelsea in the Champions League. Iniesta has been linked with the Chinese Super League team, Tianjin Quanjian, for some time now but apparently Barcelona have addressed all rumours as fake and have threatened legal action.
Despite all rumours, Barcelona manager, Ernesto Valverde, has his sights set on the football his team are playing and will not let speculation distract him. The Spanish international is said to have a ‘lifetime contract’ with Barcelona, winning four Champions Leagues and winning eight La Liga titles.
