Energy Drinks Banned for Under 16s

Multiple supermarkets have banned the sales of energy drinks to under-16s, due to the concerns of high levels of sugar and caffeine. Retailers will minimize the sale of energy drinks containing 150mg of caffeine per litre and have banned the sale of energy drinks to under-16s.
Supermarkets and major retailers such as: Waitrose, Asda, Aldi, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Tesco, Lidl and Boots have all implemented the ban at the start of the month.
Chef Jamie Oliver, who led the #Notforchildren campaign, took to social media and praised the supermarkets for taking action, saying they had “done the right thing.”
Yesterday, I went to Poundland, Poundworld and Aldi to try and buy energy drinks to see whether the retailers were sticking with their promises about the ban. I was able to purchase energy drinks from both Poundland and Poundworld, but I was asked for ID at Aldi while looking at the drinks. This indicates that under-16s are still able to buy energy drinks but only in certain retailers and local corner shops.
