Tesla, throughout the last few years, has shown its capability to produce some of the most impressive cars on the market. It is seen as a leading pioneer of the electric revolution in the transportation industry. The mastermind behind the now most valuable automaker in America, Elon Musk, never fails to impress.
Elon had promised a surprise at the Tesla Semi unveiling event but no one had expected something this spectacle.
The Surprise was the new instalment of the Tesla Roadster series: The Tesla Roadster 2. The Tesla Roadster 1 was the first car that Tesla had brought out in 2008 and had the body of a Lotus. Elon quite evidently resurrected the series to show the true capabilities of the electric car. After the company had showcased its new line of semi-trucks, the stunning red body of the Roadster rolled out of a smoking shipping crater onto the stage and darted across platform flexing its capabilities, leaving the crowd cheering and lost for words. The new 4-seater instalment has dazzling sleek red body and laser LED lights much like the ones on the Bugatti Chiron.
As Musk took to the mic and talked about the car, it only got better. Elon casually bragged that the Roadster would go from 0-60 in 1.9 seconds, making it the fastest production car in the world, outclassing even multi-million hypercars. The car broke many records such as fastest 0-60 and quarter mile (8.9 seconds) record in any production car.
Powering the Roadster is a 200kWh battery which gives the roadster an unrivalled 620 miles of range. Also, the top speed of the car will be 250mph and all for the price of $300,000 which for what you are getting could be the best deal in the history of mankind.
So overall, it seems as if it’s too good to be coming out soon, and you’d be right. There are still many questions left unanswered, for example, the roadster has no side mirrors and could the company keep up with demands on top of other projects such as the production of the Tesla Model 3 which the company is already struggling with.
The car will be released sometime in 2020 and if it can meet its expectations, it will be known as one of the greatest cars in automotive history.
