As we all can tell iOS 11 was a terrible update: so many bugs, crashes, instability and so on… For example with the first few days of iOS 11, as soon as you swiped up on the iPhone X, the phone used to crash. So that is why IOS 12 is going to focus on performance. IOS 12 is going to be an update that focuses heavily on bug fixes and modifications to the fundamental code because Apple wants to address performance, presentation and quality issues.
Bloomberg said iOS 12 is planning to refresh the home screen with a redesigned app grid. They are going to update picture-taking, photo editing and other core apps like Mail, but unfortunately Apple said they might delay these updates to 2019 in order to focus more on bug issues as well as to make iPhones more responsive. There were plans to refine the in car interface so car-play would have received a big upgrade, and very likely to be an ‘on iPhone’ version of car-play to where you would have to plug your iPhone into the car in order to get that edge but hasn’t yet been confirmed.
Rumors say there is going to be:
- An improved version of ‘Do Not Disturb’ that will proposal users more choices to automatically decline calls and mute notifications
- Multi-person increased reality games.
- Enhanced Siri
- Redesigned app icons
