Aubameyang vs Lacazette
By Samuel, Sports Staff Writer
Over the past couple of months, a clear battle between Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette has emerged to see who will become Arsene Wenger’s preferred striker. Which one will it be?
Aubameyang
Being one of the fastest footballers in the world the twenty-eight year old is always a pain for defenders to stop. This is proven, as he has scored around forty goals for Borussia Dortmund, including a selection of cheeky-chips over the goal keeper and his well-known front-flip celebration. His goal scoring record might only be because Borussia and Bayern are the only good teams in the Bundesliga, as there is a gulf between the two top dogs and the rest of the league. This is nothing like English football in which most teams are very good. On the other hand, he has proven not to be a one season wonder, having played 213 matches and scoring 141 which is not an easy feat. On his debut for Arsenal he helped win 5-1 against Everton scoring one and helping Aaron Ramsey to score his hat-trick. Can he continue this form for the next part of the season?
Lacazette
He has already played more than half the season and scored around six or seven which is not at all good for a £52 million striker. Is he thinking too much about playing in the World Cup with France? If he is should he not be trying to impress the French manager by scoring lots of goals? If Lacazette wants to be a part of the World Cup in the summer he must improve his form or risk being dropped completely.
Aubameyang and Lacazette are both great strikers in their right, but can they perform for Arsenal when it matters, either individually or together, to rescue Arsenal from their disastrous season?
