The Nintendo company from Japan announced in February of 2018 that a new Mario Kart game would be coming to smartphones between the business year of April 2018 and March 2019. After 25 years of Mario Kart being around, it has never been on smartphones but will this game fail like many other Nintendo smartphone games or be successful like other Mario Kart console games?

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was a great success, selling 1.2 million copies in only three days. However, prior to this in April 2016, Wii moto which was a chat service for phones was released. This struggled to sell and was one of the low points in terms of Nintendos’ releases. Now, Nintendo is planning to take it out of app stores when Mario Kart Tour is released.

There is another failure that could bring negative connotations to Mario Kart Tour, which is Super Mario Run. This is an enjoyable game in itself, however, money was required from the player so that they could keep playing the rest of the game which was, in fact, most of the game’s content. Because of this, players were not willing to continue their adventure in the game.

However, Mario Kart has always been a huge hit on the Wii and it is a perfect game for family and friends or even on the go, so it should be a hit on the race track in Mario Kart Tour!
