‘Consciousness’

Eileen Gbagbo (OD 2016-18), who was a member of the DGS Journalism Society as a 6th Form Mentor, has penned her latest poem Consciousness, in the midst of the current calls for global solidarity to support the most vulnerable of communities.

About Eileen

Since completing the IB Diploma at Dartford Grammar School, Eileen has completed an International Relations degree at LSE. During her time at university, she not only served as the Secretary of the British People of Colour Society, but also contributed to the LSE’s student newspaper, The Beaver while also guest editing the Black History Month editions. She is now an editor at The Republic, an African affairs journal with a keen focus on cultivating a deeper understanding of African history, culture and science. Outside of this, she also regularly plays rugby.
